That evening, Heisler returned to the engineering lab, and looking over his schematics, he started the tedium of creating prosthetic arms. While he did not dislike the developmental stages of Project Human, observing the robot proved a little more exhilarating. Hours later, with dried and itchy eyes, he decided to go home for a shower. To round out the remnants of the day, he made arrangements to visit his hometown.

Inside the barren apartment, he bypassed switching into night wear and climbed into bed. Staring at the ceiling with hands folded behind his head, he thought only about the new arm schematics. Perhaps, I can utilize swivel joints. The added boon of being able to rotate each joint in a full circle ought to give the ape something new to learn. Maybe, I’ll even add hydraulic extensions. Now, what about the legs?

The next few days proceeded rather slowly. Heisler didn’t even communicate with the rest of the team. On occasion, he muttered the required order to a subordinate. Other than that, he focused on completing the new arms. Finally, Wednesday came around, and he flew out of town.
